Resource for Art Educators
I am incredibly grateful to have received a 2021 Creative Support for Individuals Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. As part of this grant, I created a resource guide for art educators to provide teachers with reference materials and discussion questions based on the work of three contemporary, nationally recognized female BIPOC ceramists.
Thoughtfully Considered
I am grateful to be included in a wonderful show at the Schaller Gallery this July. Thoughtfully Considered features the work of Mary Barringer, Susan Dewsnap, Sandy Lockwood, Jenn Cole, Leah Lewiston, Nan Coffin, Pete Pinnell, Steve Rolf, Dan Finnegan, Brian Westrick, Mike Helke, and Richard Burkett.
Apply to MN NICE!
The MN NICE Program is currently accepting applications for its 2022-23 cohort. MN NICE is a one-year ceramic intensive that I run collaboratively with Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis. It is designed for advanced students who are looking to clarify their artistic voice and move into a professional realm. If curious, read all about MN NICE here and get in touch!
Artaxis Fundraiser
Check out my pots, currently featured as a fundraiser for Artaxis (@artaxis)! Sales support the work of this independent organization–a fantastic resource and network in the ceramic community.
Conservatory
If you’re on the UMN St. Paul Campus, stop by the newly renovated College of Biological Sciences Conservatory & Botanical Collection. While working as an Artist-in-Residence last year, I created a series of large tiles, illustrating plant species specific to each of the Conservatory’s four biomes. My tiles are now permanently installed in the lobby.
The Good Earth
Good Earth: The Pots and Passion of Walter Ostrom was recently published in conjunction with Walter’s exhibition at The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. I was honored to write an essay about Walter’s beautiful and brilliant work for this book.
