I’m excited to be teaching an online workshop at Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft this fall! We will work on writing professional and meaningful artist statements and bios. Open to craft artists working in any media!
Workshop Description: Writing an artist statement and bio is a necessary and important step in presenting your work professionally. However, the writing process can sometimes feel overwhelming and confusing. In this two-session workshop, we will work through prompts and exercises designed to break the process down into manageable steps. This workshop will help you compose a bio and artist statement that tell your unique story, highlight your experience and accomplishments, and explain why you make your work. We will move between group discussions, individual writing prompts, and breakout sessions.
